Effective
These terms apply when you use this website, buy a mailing list from it, or hire Best Direct Mail to print and mail for you. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to them. If a written quote or agreement for your job says something different, that document wins for that job.
Quotes and prices
- Prices on this website and in our planners are estimates until we send you a quote for your job. A quote is based on the quantity, size, paper and mail date you give us, and it changes if those change.
- Postage is charged at the actual USPS rate on the day we mail. If USPS raises its rates before your mail date, the new rate applies.
- Address counts from our EDDM® and mailing list planners come from USPS and list data that changes over time. The final count can differ from the planner, and we bill for the pieces actually printed and mailed.
Payment
Printing, data work and postage are paid before your job is mailed, unless we agree in writing to other terms. Card payments are made on Authorize.net's secure payment page. We can hold a job until payment is received.
Your artwork, content and lists
- You are responsible for what your mail says and for having the rights to the logos, photos and text you send us.
- You are responsible for following the laws that apply to your mailing, such as advertising rules, licensing rules for your trade, and your association's governing documents and election rules.
- We can decline a job that we believe is unlawful, misleading, offensive, or that USPS will not accept as mailable.
Proofs
Before we print, we send a proof. Please check names, dates, prices, phone numbers, addresses and spelling carefully. Once you approve a proof, we print exactly what you approved, and we are not responsible for errors in an approved proof. Printed colors can vary slightly from what you see on a screen.
Mailing lists bought on this website
- The lists we sell are compiled by a third-party data provider from public and commercial sources. They are accurate to the best of the provider's knowledge, but we cannot guarantee that every name and address is current or deliverable.
- A list you buy is for your own company's marketing. You may not resell, share, publish or give it to another business.
- You agree to use the list lawfully and not for harassment, fraud, or any purpose that discriminates against people based on a protected trait.
- Lists are delivered by email right after payment, so list sales are final. If the file doesn't arrive, won't open, or doesn't match the area and filters you chose, email us within 7 days and we will fix it or refund you.
Mail dates and USPS delivery
We work to the mail date we agree with you, and we are responsible for your mail until we hand it to the U.S. Postal Service. After that, delivery is up to USPS. We cannot guarantee when USPS delivers, and we are not responsible for mail that USPS delays, loses or cannot deliver. Mail dates also depend on getting your approved proof, list and payment on time.
Changes and cancellations
You can change or cancel a job before it goes to print. If we have already done design, data or other work, you pay for that work. Once a job is printed, it cannot be cancelled or refunded, and postage already paid to USPS cannot be refunded.
If we make a mistake
If something goes wrong because of our error, and not something in your approved proof or list, tell us within 7 days of the mail date. We will reprint and remail the affected pieces or refund what you paid for them.
Limit of our responsibility
Our total responsibility for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We are not responsible for lost sales, lost profits, or other indirect losses, including the response rate of a mailing. Results from direct mail vary, and we do not guarantee any particular result.
Designs and website content
The postcard designs, text and tools on this website belong to Best Direct Mail or the companies we license them from. You may use a design we customize for you in mailings we produce for you. Your own logos, photos and text stay yours. Please don't copy the site's content or use automated tools to collect data from it.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of San Diego County, California.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. The terms in place when you placed an order apply to that order.
