EDDM® printing and mailing in San Diego County
We print your Every Door Direct Mail® postcards and mail them for you. You pick the neighborhoods, and we handle the printing, the USPS paperwork, the bundling and the trip to the Post Office. Best Direct Mail is a mail house in San Marcos, and we mail EDDM® for businesses across San Diego County.
What we do for you
- Choose the routes together. Tell us the area and who you want to reach, and we'll work out the best routes with you. Or pick them yourself in our EDDM® route planner and send us your list.
- Print the postcards. Full color on both sides in the popular 6.25 × 9, 6.25 × 11 and 8.5 × 11 inch sizes, or any other size that qualifies for EDDM®. See EDDM® sizes and requirements for how they compare.
- Add the indicia and address line. Every card carries the EDDM® postage indicia and the "Postal Customer" line, set up correctly so the Post Office accepts the mailing.
- Bundle and do the paperwork. We bundle the cards by route with USPS facing slips and prepare the postage statement.
- Drop off at the Post Office. We take each mailing to the Post Offices that deliver your routes, so you never wait in line.
You can also skip the printing questions entirely and start from one of our postcard designs, made for more than 40 kinds of local businesses. See some of them on our EDDM® postcards page.

How it works
- Tell us where and how many. Send us the ZIP Codes or neighborhoods, or the routes you picked in the planner. We confirm the count of homes and the price.
- Send or choose a design. Upload your artwork, pick one of our designs, or ask us to design the card.
- Approve a proof. You see exactly how both sides will print, with the indicia in place, before anything goes on the press.
- We print, bundle and mail. Once your cards are at the Post Office, carriers usually deliver them the next day.
Why use a mail house instead of EDDM® Retail
You can buy EDDM® postage yourself on the USPS website and take your cards to the Post Office counter. That route is called EDDM® Retail, and it works well for small mailings. For anything bigger, a mail house saves time and removes the limits:
| Doing it yourself (EDDM® Retail) | With Best Direct Mail | |
|---|---|---|
| How many | Up to 5,000 pieces per ZIP Code per day | No daily limit, several ZIP Codes in one mailing |
| Printing | You find a printer who knows EDDM® sizes | We print only sizes that qualify |
| Indicia and addressing | You make sure the printer gets them right | We set them up on every card |
| Bundling | You count stacks of 50 to 100 and add a facing slip to each | Done for you |
| Drop-off | You visit each Post Office that serves your routes | We deliver to every Post Office for you |
