EDDM® postcards: designs, sizes and prices
An EDDM® postcard is a large card that goes to every home on the mail routes you pick, with no mailing list. Pick a design for your business, choose a size, and we print it and mail it for you from our shop in San Marcos.
EDDM® postcard designs for local businesses
These are a few of our ready-made designs from the kinds of businesses that mail EDDM® most. Every design can be printed at any EDDM® size, and we add your logo, photos, offer and phone number.
See every industry in our postcard design library. Real estate agents, dentists and electricians can also read our city marketing plans, with homes and EDDM® routes by ZIP Code.
EDDM® postcard sizes
USPS only accepts large cards for EDDM®: longer than 10.5 inches or taller than 6.125 inches. Our three most popular sizes are:
- 6.25 × 9 inches, the lowest price, for a simple offer
- 6.25 × 11 inches, room for a photo and an offer
- 8.5 × 11 inches, the one we recommend: the biggest card in the mailbox, for the same postage
We can print any other size that qualifies too. See EDDM® sizes and requirements for a to-scale chart of what qualifies and what doesn't.
What goes on an EDDM® postcard
- A headline people can read from the mailbox. Most people decide in a few seconds whether to keep a card. Say what you do and for whom in a few large words.
- One offer with a deadline. A single strong offer, like a first visit discount or a free estimate, works better than a list. An end date gets people to act.
- A real photo. Your team, your work or your food does more than stock images.
- Your phone number, website and address, large. Put the phone number on both sides.
- Room for the mailing area. The back needs space for the EDDM® indicia and the "Postal Customer" line. Learn what the indicia says. We set this area up for you on every card.

Frequently asked questions
What size is an EDDM® postcard?
It has to be longer than 10.5 inches or taller than 6.125 inches, so regular 4 × 6 and 6 × 9 postcards don't qualify. The most popular EDDM® sizes are 6.25 × 9, 6.25 × 11 and 8.5 × 11 inches. We print those and any other size that qualifies.
How much do EDDM® postcards cost?
With printing, USPS postage and mailing included, 2,500 of our recommended 8.5 × 11 postcards come to $1,458, or $0.58 each. Postage is about $0.26 a card in 2026 and is the same for every size.
Do EDDM® postcards need an address?
No. Instead of a name and address, each card says "Postal Customer" (or "Local Postal Customer" for EDDM® Retail) and carries the EDDM® postage indicia. The carrier delivers one to every address on your routes.
Can I use my own design?
Yes. Send us your artwork and we'll check that it fits an EDDM® size and leaves room for the indicia and address line. If it doesn't, we'll adjust it before printing.
Can you just print the postcards so I can mail them myself?
Yes. We sell EDDM® postcard printing on its own too. You then bundle the cards, fill out the USPS paperwork and take them to your Post Office. See our EDDM® cost guide for print-only prices.
